All essential nursing workflows were evaluated in order to develop the build of an EHR that supports nursing documentation. At times, changes to nursing workflows were warranted and made accordingly. Frequently Asked Questions

Can patients complete portions of the ED or IP nursing assessment - similar to the questionnaire for the OP practices?
Under the My Chart function, a patient can update certain demographic information. When patient arrives in the ED a search would be conducted in the WellStar Connect system and all of the patient's information would be reviewed and confirmed during assessment. The ED nurse would complete a patient assessment in accordance with WellStar policy EC- 61. Currently patients wanting to go to Cobb ED can schedule an ED visit appointment thru ER Express (a third party vendor), which is to be rolled out at other ED's soon.
